Should this new "buster posey" rule about blocking the plate be put into effect?

What I don't understand is lots of other guy's who are catchers get beaten and bruised, etc. All of a sudden, Buster Posey gets injured, and now there might be a rule change? Come on. It's part of the game. Catchers take a lot of abuse, but that's part of the position. Are we going to stop tackling/sacking the quarterback because it could injure him too? If you're gonna be a catcher, that's what you have to expect.
