Do you think Giants General Manager, Brian Sabean is being too defensive?
I completely agree that the Giants are doing a terrible job of representing themselves as well as the Giants fans. I agree with with Morrison that there is no reason for the GM to come out with the comments that he did. I understand being upset that you lost your star player but he has never played the game and he doesn't know what happens on the field as much as he wants to make it seem. I have seen the play and it was a 100% clean play, Cousins didn't do anything malicious or illegal. He was trying to score and Posey was in between him and the plate and he wanted to score the run. He had a split second to decide whether or not to try and slide around the tag or to take out the catcher and he decided to do the latter because the ball was there and he wanted to try and knock it loose and score the run. He was not intentionally trying to hurt Posey or end his season, he just made a good hard baseball play and it was unfortunate that Posey was injured on it. If you don't like the play than you don't like baseball the way that it is supposed to be played, that is with hustle and with hard plays. That is how it has been since baseball was created and that is how it should be played. I think that there has been too much control over that aspect of the game with the umpires stepping in on everything and trying to govern the players. You can't throw inside anymore without being afraid of being thrown out and you can't protect your players without being thrown out. It is ridiculous.
