HELP ME! My volume control disappeared!?

It isn't on the start bar anymore, and I tried typing the volume control's process - SYNDVOL32.EXE - (I've noticed that's what it is) into Task Manager under Create New Task and it says the process cannot be found. The button above the keyboard still works to turn it up and down, but the volume control won't show up and the icon is gone! Help me!
