I would try to get a colored screen behind you. Preferably red. Whle you wear a pink sweater while holding a kitten. You're body should be slightly tilted away from the camera while your face is directed towards the camera. Then before you snap the picture make sure to tell yourself "I'm a beautiful person swimming in the mist of the seahorses" and then smiled awkwardly and snap the picture. You'll never regret it.
