What is your opinion on Buster Posey's injury? Was it avoidable?

I don't think Scott Cousins intentionally wanted to hurt Buster Posey...however, while looking at a replay...it looks like it could have been avoided and he just could have slid home. I'm not saying it wasn't legal or anything like that...just looked like he didn't have to do that. Am I wrong? Opinions?
