What to do about Brian Sabean?
It's pretty disappointing that Sabean had such angry, mean-spirited things to say about Scott Cousins. I guess I could understand if Sabean had said these things in the heat of the moment, immediately after Posey's injury. But it's been well over a week, and Sabean should have been able to control his emotions and to not make the comments he did. I like to follow the entire major leagues, not just my favorite team, and I too was disappointed that Posey was injured. The guy may be the future face of baseball, pretty impressive for a guy who plays on a West Coast team and a guy who most of us here on the East coast don't see play that often. It is very unfortunate that Posey suffered a season-ending injury, but collisions are a part of the game and always will be. It was a clean play, and Cousins was not fined or suspended, so Sabean just needs to zip it. He was waaaayyyyy out of line when he said that the Giants would not forget, meaning that he would like to see Cousins being drilled by a Giants pitcher. All he is doing is opening up a can of worms, and now that he said that, the Marlins pitchers are going to be very conscious of anything that does happen to hit Cousins.
