Why is everyone on the Books/Authors forum so optimistic?

Ya that's not everyone, usually the people that give the comments are the same ones wanting their stories critiqued. Now I'm not against hope and positive thinking because I always believed that you have to believe compeletely in yourself because no one else will. But all the story postings are annoying; you shouldn't need someone to give their opinion on every paragraph you write. And finally, I know this post's headline is to draw attention and get people talking but try not to generalize about groups of people, doesn't look good.
